			thanks guys.  Oh.., my tip'o the day: before you buy a headlight to replace the failed high beam, replace the fuse EVEN IF IT LOOKS OK.  New sealed beam had same problem and I was ready to trace wires and look for shorts etc until I decided to go back to my original checkpoint and and see if  I had power on both sides of the fuse when I put the highbeams on -   dang that normal looking fuse was bad!....on the plus side got look at headlight assemblies and treated some rust  before it gets out of hand...
