Need help reindexing rear torsion bar

Yes, there are different numbers of splines on the inner and outer ends so you can mix and match to get fine adjustments.

BUT if you can't the inner out. you can move the outer plate almost in a circle, there full splines. BUT if your stuck between measurements, then you might have to remove the bar and re-index it to get the desired ride hight. BTW, new shocks effect the ride hight so keep that in mind.

I cannot get the the inner TB to free up. I can jiggle move the TB up and down and right and left a 1/4in or so but it will not come out. I've sprayed in PB blaster and used Vise-grips with prybars. Is there some inner bolt or clip that needs to be removed?

Keep at it.....nothing else holding it in.
If you've got the other side out put a long bar in from the other side and drive it out.

Sway away adjustable spring plates allow for a couple inches of fine tuning.....just sayin'.....

It's just 30 yr. old dried up grease, maybe a bit of suction action as well. If you can get just 1 side out, you can then knock the other one through from the "empty" side.

Remove the spring plate from both sides.
Give either torsion bar a couple of good wacks with a small sledge using a wood drift through the removed torsion cover.
Repeat on other side until both bars can move.

Did you ever get the car lowered? I need to lower my rear also and looking for any info I can find.
