Stop Running
Trying to take care of a few problems with my new 911...
Sometimes when i turn the car off it still trys to run for a second. Could this be a bad distributor cap? Hopefully it is. Have a new cap, rotor, wires, plugs to put in. |

Could be a faulty DME Relay or leaky injectors. When you turn is off its still getting fuel.
Do a search on "Dieseling" and you should find plenty of info |

twistoffat is ‘right on'.
Some tests you can do are to replace the spark plugs with 1-step ‘colder’ heat range. Another is to use a tank of 100-octane (unleaded) race fuel. Post images of your sparkplugs. Best, Grady

I believe the injectors were just recently cleaned. Car is going in this Tuesday for valve adj/gaskets/plugs. The plugs I purchased are Bosch WR7DC+ (Bosch Super Plus plug with copper core and yttrium added) Part number 999-170-156-90-M14.
Will order a DME and check that first. I will also post pics later this week of the plugs. Race fuel, really? |
