Koller & Schwemmer Mfi rebuild
Has anyone ever have any experiences Koller &Schwernmer rebuild MFI pumps. From what their web site says they have purchased all of the Bosch prints and tooling to re- manufacture pumps. They only do rebuilds......no spare parts.

I believe it was them who screwed up a pump build to RSR specs. They did not get the high butterfly throttle linkages right and they also did not make the pump look correct - like the gold painted barometric can. I think the guy ended up sending it to Gus.

Be leave it or not, the gold painted barometric cell is the only way to make it look good and clean after testing because it cannot be cad plated the second time after it was assembled when new. The cad plating will attack the very thin barometric cell inside and damage it causing it to loose the pressure/vacuum. Even trying to cap the threaded end will not guarantee the cad plating solutions from leaking in. Painting it something like gold cad color is the best way to have it survive, or not doing anything but cleaning it well.

Huh. The pic I saw it looked rather hokey. I'd rather have patina than gold paint.

Thanks for the input guys. Flieger, I agree with the patina on the barometric cell. I think I will use the best looking cell of three that I have.

Best guy in the US is Gus Pfister at Pacific Fuel Injection in South San Francisco. He's done two pumps for me, and both were great, requiring no fiddling after installation. Have been to his shop; he has all the right Bosch test gear plus tons of parts. Highly recommended by his many customers.
