Is this car representative of '78 SC prices?

Up the road from me. Looks like it's in good shape. Seems underpriced to me. If one of you wants to buy it you're more than welcome to call. I'm not in the market.

Probably needs the required $8,000+ to make it right.
They are all $20,000 cars after all....

not bad for the price, too bad about the spoiler but that comes off easy. For a DD it's hard to beat, put gas and oil in it and run it forever or a good donor for that 3.2SS MFI slide valve screamer sleeper. Painted dark gray of course and about 500 lbs lighter.

Not mine and no affiliation but I did see it on craigslist a few days back.

Link to the Craigslist add with more pics and text.

1978 Porsche 911 SC

Just in case the text is as follow:

This vehicle is a Guards Red 1978 911sc with a stock 3.0 930 motor. This car is a great project. This model and year is very popular, so finding information online is usually very easy. I hate to sell, but I'm moving cross country.

Exterior:
Great paint from 5 feet. Has a few very minor chips and dings that should be expected of a car that is driven.
Has nice original BBS wheels.
Brand new tires. Good grip.
Trunk and engine, and fuel latches work great.
All lights work.
Has sunroof, but the 34 years old plastic gears are worn out, so it won't open, but doesn't leak a drop even in a monsoon.
Windows are tinted nicely.
No rust anywhere on this body. Underside clean as well.

Interior:
All black interior.
Carpet looks good, nice floormats say "Porsche".
Dash looks great, not cracked or warped.
All gauges work great and light up nicely with headlights.
Seats are very nice, comfortable, appear to have been recovered recently.
Headliner is also perfect.
Factory steering wheel, steering is tight and precise.
Brakes work great, parking brake is strong.
Pedal cluster has been rebuilt with all new bushings, freeing up clutch and brake pedals.
Clutch cable has been replaced.
Clutch has been replaced.
Clutch feeling is perfect. Easy to feel for shifts.
Has custom door panels painted in matte black, looks very sharp.
Door locks work.

Drivetrain:
This motor is known as the "bulletproof" engine.
Entire CIS system has been gone through, piece by piece, all verified to work on and off the car.
No vacuum leaks in CIS.
Car starts easily within a second hot or cold.
Car runs well hot or cold, no running issues.
Idle is spot on, hot or cold.
Stock exhaust sounds great, no leaks.
Engine has been torn down to block and checked out.
Replaced broken headstuds.
New head gaskets.
New cam chains.
Valves adjusted, valve covers have new silicone gaskets.
All 12 exhaust studs machined out and replaced with helicoils.
Replaced heat exchangers.
All new stainless steel exhaust hardware.
Transmission drained and fluid replaced with Swepco 201.
Shifts are relatively smooth for this 915 transmission, no grinding or hunting around.
Aftermarket external oil cooler installed in place of factory coiled tube assembly.

Call or email. 678-twoninefour-725four
