Can it be done? *Should* it be done?
I have read some stories about how folks had wheels repaired for reasonable prices. Welding up cracks, repairing bends and severe curbage and the like.
OK, so let's take it a step further: I know a guy who has an early-90's Audi with a 4x108 bolt pattern. I also know that he has a spare set of 15x7 Fuchs in a shed that he's had FOREVER, and says that he wants to "use them some day". He refuses to sell them. "I want to use these wheels" - an almost emotional attachment. OK, so... Send the Fuchs off and get the holes welded up and new holes drilled. Maybe something that is not something that *should* be done. But something that could be done, by a good shop? I will admit to a small interest - I really want to see him do *something* with these wheels. All they are doing is taking up space in his shed, and he keeps yapping about that "someting" that he's going to do. So, if he isn't going to buy a 911, at least he can put them to use. And no, I don't know why it bugs me. In addition, a recent conversation got me to thinking about his wheels again. And it's bugging me. Again. ![]() Thanks for any info. |

Have him put something more fitting on that quattro. I'd hate to wreck some fuchs to put on an Audi. I love Audi but doubt they would look good on a 90's Audi, Offset asside.

There is no way to convert a 5 lug Fuch to 4 lug. There are only 5 places where a bolt will go. It could be done with a spacer that converts from 4 to 5 but then the wheel wouldn't need to be modified.
Silly waste of time anyway...

It will take some work to replace the hub, but I think that it will look super sweet!
FWIW, Fuchs did make wheels for the UR S4 and S6, although they didn't look like the Porsche Fuchs: ![]() If he goes through it, I seriously hope that you post pics. I will award you +1 internets if they're on a ridiculously cool Audi, like a highly modified URS6 Avant.

how about 4bolt to 5 bolt adaptors? maybe check on ebay? 4x108 to 5x130? I imagine there might be some folks on the VW/Audi boards who have done this.

You can have adapters made to fit. PM me and I will dig up the company.
I had a 500E ('92) that I put 930 Fuchs on (yes, it's 5-bolt to 5-bolt so a bit easier). The offsets have to be figured into the equation but barring that, it can be done safely. On the Audi, the spacer would be held to the stock hub w/ the stock 4-bolts and the spacer would have the 5 bolts inserted to accept the Fuchs. As long as the spacer is not too deep, the 4 bolt pattern not interfering with the 5-bolt pattern, and the amount of bite each of the lugs has is correct, it will be fine. |

Let those 7s sit where they are. Future generations will thank you.

Those were actually the ones that I was thinking of - I just didn't find a pic. Those are 5-bolt, though. Are they 5x130?

I say leave the original Fuchs as original. Yes - it would be cool to put them on something else - but we also need to be in the business of preservation. That old Audi would look better with some vintage BBS wheels anyway...
