Recommendation Alarm / Cut Off System ?

Planning on doing multiple roadtrips over next 2 years.
Anyone got any security suggestions for alarm/cutoff system. Car is a 1988 911 Coupe with nil alarm currently fitted.

Put a screamer inside the car...activated if someone does not disarm before starting.
Make sure it is so loud that the thief will need to cover his ears and run.
It's hard to steal a car when your hands are clamped over your ears and all you have left is your elbows....LOL

a dog.

a nagging wife.

just kidding.
DO NOT hack into the starter circuit. that circuit has enough issues as it is.

best thing is a switch to kill the fuel pump, or just pull the fuel pump relay. you want to wire into the coil side of the fuel pump relay. again, a good bit of current needed for the FP so you really dont want to add any more resistance to that circuit either. the coil side is low current so not as big a deal.
the key is to not make it unreliable for you.

Bob, I did just that...160db siren under the dash along with a secret knob to disable the power. Woke a few neighbors one night when a cat jumped on the car :=)

I love it!
BTW....with a very loud unit in the car....cleaning up the blood from the thief's ears might be difficult....consult your local crime scene cleanup expert for advice.

I second the recommendation to NOT put an alarm system in our cars. They seem to create a huge amount of electrical headaches, most commonly associated with no-start issues. I'd create some type of kill switch in line with the DME relay, or just remove the relay entirely when not in use. I can't think of anyone who carries those things with them, unless they are particularly intimate with 3.2's....or YOUR car in particular.
