Book is great, both of them, even if you aren't planning on doing anything. However i probably wouldn't feel confident of doing this rebuild without this site and just the books. The help on here is great !

Looks like I forgot a few things. I spent $2000 on all the chain related bits. EBS had the kit for around $900, but I got new sprockets, supports, chains, ramps, etc and the total bill was around $2k. I did have to replace one of the oil lines from the kit though as it leaked straight out of the box.

A bit of an update, and first show stopper.
I finally managed to get some more time on the car this weekend, really missed it, but have been busy looking after the wife (broken leg) and kids ![]() Got one side stripped down, four broken studs removed, no heat needed, and replaced all lower six. Went well, little wear on bores, cams etc. On to the other side, and one of the studs is broke almost flush with the case No way of getting my extractor on it. I think my approach will be to pay for someone who can weld to try and weld a nut to it. I presume any decent mobile welder should be able to come out and do it ?
