shift coupled problem

I just got a new shift coupler from our host. it moves in all directions alot.the black bushings allow the pin to move side to side and up and down. big gap between shaft and bushing.

can this be right they move more than the old one.i thought it was suppose to be tight?

Ed's bushings aren't loose. Made from different material and machined to closer tolerances. Lots of info in these threads.

+1 on ivangene's coupler bushing..made a huge difference to my poorly shifting SC. Now there is very little hesitation going up or down the gears.
