Oil cooler not getting warm--what's wrong??
I have a B&Bfront oil cooler behind the front valance that is not hot to the touch(or even warm) after a track session and my engine temps are too hot. Front fender carerra cooler is heating up fine but not keeping up. Any ideas on what could be happening?

Sounds like your thermostat isnt opening. Are the lines on the engine side of the thermostat hot?

Well, how is it plumbed? Where do the hoses come and go from? Is the front cooler in-line after the fender Carrera cooler? Is there another thermostat along the way?
Can you post a diagram of how you've got it all hooked up?

should go, hot engine oil to the fender cooler, out to the front cooler, out back to the oil tank.

Both lines were hot. Does the B&B have it's own thermostat maybe? Possibly plugged internally? I bot it used and supposedly cleaned out per seller.

Some oil coolers, like the old RX7 coolers, do have internal thermostats. We've got an RX7 cooler in Steve's cabby and another sitting at the shop - definately have internal t-stats. Whether B&B does - I have no idea.

It doesn't make a lot of sense if they are plumbed in series - fender cooler to front cooler to oil tank. If the fender cooler is hot, how does the oil get back to the oil tank without going through the front cooler? If they are plumbed in parallel, then any obstruction in the line or cooler would cause the front loop to be bypassed, but the lines wouldn't be hot. Very strange...

It is very strange that the front oil cooler would not be hot yet the lines would be. One side of the cooler where the inlet/outlets are was slightly warm and the other cold to touch. Not sure what could cause this other than some type of obstruction in the B&B cooler that is causing the oil to take a short cut inside the B&B and not flow through the cooler.
