Porsche service bulletin

[86 911 Targa]

Subsequent to several front condenser fan motor fires,
porsche issued a service bulletin for the '86 M/Y and prior
for the installation of a fuse holder.

I didn't get mine......

I did install a fuse, but cannot locate the correct P/N.

Would anyone have the correct P/N.

I don't think the fusing for our 3.2's was Porsche's finest hour.

Towards the end of the M/Y '86 Porsche, after several fires, issued a service bulletin fusing the front condenser blower motor.

This harness was the fix.

Also, several Porsche owners implemented the fix as per my post.

I would encourage any 911 owner to follow up on this fix:

The mod I did is just fine. 8A in series with the hot lead.

I bought the 911-612-077-00 just to make it nicer........

My motivation is for the Porsche folks to incorporate the harness,
along with other fusing & relay upgrades.

The instrument cluster lights need to be fused as well as I recall. Fewer fires but they were unfused as well.
