Axle Assembly Alternative

My car is set up to run Carrera axles -- the kind that has the stub axle included as part of the assembly. So I've got flanges on my 1977 transaxle for the 108mm CV joints and hubs that work with the Carrera stub axles.

My engine has been moved forward and the CV joints are being asked to work at a more acute angle than would be the case with normal drive train position.

Here's my question. If I sourced a pair of turbo stub axles, could I run them with 85-89 Turbo axle (and CV joint) assemblies?
