One High Beam Doesn't Work?

Hi there,

Hope Thanksgiving went well for everyone.

I have an issue with my passenger side high beam. I just replaced my turn signal switch (it had burned out long ago). While I was at it, I decided to change my headlights, since the hi beam wasn't working on that same side.

After installation, the low beams worked great, and the switch between low and high beams worked great.

Despite that, however, the high beam on the passenger side still doesn't come on.

Anything come to mind?

Check Fuse Panel to insure the wires going into fuse is secure, sometimes they wiggle out, especially if tampered with in the past.

This happened to me when I installed my relay, did not torque the screw tight enough. :-(

Here is a picture. Am I missing the fuse? Should there be a wire entering there as well?

You are missing the right high beam fuse.

Also, compare your fuse values to our '86 fuse panel:

That missing fuse is for the passenger high beam, 8 amps.

Dumb question:

Does it matter if it's the white or yellow 8 amp?

Not really....8 amp is 8 amp.....best to have a downstream relay system installed to save the stalk for burning out. It's a known SC problem, especially with high wattage H4 installs.
