I just replaced my coupler bushings with the coupler whisperer kit. I drove it to a supermarket parking lot with my 13mm wrenches and by trial and error got the shifter pretty much where I want it. Much better shifting. I just wish first gear didn't crunch

If the shift coupler bushings are okay, tampering with the shift coupler isn't necessary when installing the Gate Shift kit. However, before installing our kit, we recommend renewing all bushings if needed, then road test. This helps isolate any potential shifting issues before and after.
