Question Running the A/C fan when the AC removed. Am I harming anything?

I have removed the AC compressor, some of the old lines and deck lid condensor. They were thrashed / outdated and I am contemplating a new AC system to replace these parts. I still like to run the blower motor that blows air into the passanger compartment that is normally used to blow the AC air. Although it's not cold air, it really blows some air. Is it ok to run this fan without the AC compessor/condensor and lines hooked up? Will I damage any of the remaining AC components?

Paul,

Can't really imagine why you would be harming anything, it's just a fan.

I have the same stuff removed from my car, and run the fan too.

I've never really thought about the question you pose, but I agree with the others, its just a fan.

I can't see how it can hurt any of the other remaining AC components, or, even if it did, why it would matter. I would think that if the AC were ever restored, most/all of the remaining components would probably be replaced anyways.

That's what I thought, but you never know. I was driving around imagining frying wires and other strange things. Thanks.

Well, FWIW, I've been running that way for 4 or 5 years now, no problems.
