Hey all,
I just put an 1980 SC motor in my 75 911. The oil level is right above the red line. My question is: How many quarts does a 3.0L take? And my 75 oil tank and sender should work just fine with this new motor correct? Thanks! --MJ |

Should be the same as your 2.7 if you have the same oil tank. I could be wrong.

Get it up to operating temperature, and fill it to the midway point between the two marks on the dipstick. Check it with the engine idling on a level surface.
Never trust the dash gauge for this job.

My 78 3.0 with Carrera fender oil cooler takes about 10.5 quarts of oil.

About 9 or so without a front cooler, about 12 with the cooler...
