Porsche Crest Stupid question from a newbie!

Hey all,

I just put an 1980 SC motor in my 75 911. The oil level is right above the red line. My question is: How many quarts does a 3.0L take? And my 75 oil tank and sender should work just fine with this new motor correct?

Thanks!

Should be the same as your 2.7 if you have the same oil tank. I could be wrong.

Get it up to operating temperature, and fill it to the midway point between the two marks on the dipstick. Check it with the engine idling on a level surface.

Never trust the dash gauge for this job.

My 78 3.0 with Carrera fender oil cooler takes about 10.5 quarts of oil.
