Let me just say that the people on this board ROCK!
A couple weeks ago I posted an add on the Porsche Parts board looking for a headlamp rim to fab a screen for my oil cooler. A fellow member, Brian, offer to send me a spare he had in the garage, postage paid. I received it today.
Others, such as Maikai sent me a fuel filter, postage paid that was wrong for his car. MMARSH, gave me my first lesson on driving my car on the track, instruction that goes through my head at every track event. (OK he was paid, but he could have instructed anyone and he offered his expertice to a fellow Pelican Head.) Early_S_Man has saved me headaches and $$ with his expertice. Roland's comments are like a touch of Stuttgart in itself. And then there are those like Thom who make my DIY projects seems irrelevant. And JackOlsen whose prose makes me want to turn in my license to practice law and give up writing law and motion. I just want to thank Wayne for making bringing us this public forum . I am constantly amazed at the generosity of the members of this board.

Yes the people on this board are pretty knowledgeable and nice too. That is why we all hang around to help each other.

I agree totally, and there are others who have helped LOTS too. Especially John Walker, and Thom for his great DIY (him) projects.

The many uses of p-cars
Well,
I've been driving the 911 alot lately... This may sound crazy, but I've been going through a tough break up this week with my girlfriend (now-ex) of a couple years and the 911 has been invaluable. I swear, it's the best therapy yet. Some may use their 911 to get to work, race, tinker with and enjoy in its various ways. On Pelican, we've got our daily drivers, concours cars, the crazy SCWDP and us underappreciated but strong middle-year owners who have just as much fun. I know it's just a (please excuse me) car, but it can be so much more. It's a getaway for me. While hitting red- line through the gears on the open road tonight (targa top off), I realize that it's an outlet of many things. Get out, drive the 911 and clear your thoughts.... there's nothing quite like it. I love the 911 for all of its uses that vary so greatly.I may be sounding a bit philosophical, but where else would I be able to write this and feel understood... ![]() Gotta love Pelican and the people here. Thank you! To be young and experience these things is priceless! Cheers, Pete

My girlfriend was in an accident a year or so ago and was in the hospital for 4 months with a head injury. No less than 3 Pelican people sent flowers (Jack, Warren, and IXXI).
That's awesome. Not to mention the plethora of car advice we get here.

This place is a awesome resource. I've enjoyed meeting a half dozen or so of the Pelicanheads in person, and look foward to meeting more at the Round-UP in a couple weeks. |

Roland is sort of the Archimedes of Porsches. And when I had that CV joint thing, *I actually called* John Walker and he answered the phone and gave me advice.
That ROCKED THE HOUSE. He told me to start the car, put it in first, and go look underneath at the drivetrain. If the right shaft is spinning, it's the outer cv joint. If not, it's the inner. I did, and sure enough, the driveshaft was spinning. Forward 5 hours and i was back on the road. That RULED.

OK the "group hug" and Knight Rider photo is getting a little creepy. I will think twice before I start thread in the middle of my 5th Sam Adams.
