3.6L conversion no spark after tranny swap
My 3.6l 964 conversion was running awhile ago, I had a tranny built to handle it and installed it 90% of the way, then got busy. Decided to go back and finish the job and installed the starter, put 5 gal. of premium gas in and tried to start her up, ended up killing the battery so I hooked up the charger and tried some more. Gave it anout 2 weeks then had time to tackle it. Was not getting fuel or spark, DME was only clicking once in the "on position" was not getting the second click on start. bypassed the relay to make sure the fuel pump was working and it is. Finally did some research and found I had forgotten to install the crank sensor back on....DOH! It is a new sensor, adjust to approx 1mm and now I can hear the DME click the two times it's supposed to. While cranking I get nothing on the tach and no spark. I also notice that the fuel pump only cycles for a second AFTER I let the key go from cranking. I have a NBD chip installed in my 90 DME, and even swapped back to the stock on. Is it possible I fried the DME when trying to start it with the charger on battery cranked up to max amps?

did you damage the crank sensor or damage the wire, Kevin

No, just didn't have it bolted on at first, once I bolted it on and adjusted it we started to get the second "click" out of the DME relay. But I did see a post on how to test it, so i'll try that too.
