Got my Braids today.
So the Braids I ordered for my RSR build showed up today. I ended up going 9x15 and 11x15. Now I just need to get the Mich TB's that will wrap them. I weighed them on the scale to see how close the actual weight of the wheels were. I got 14 pounds for the 9 inch fronts and 17 pounds for the 11 inch rears.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() After mock up these bad boys will be headed out to Harvey W for some RSR treatment. Last edited by tocobill; 02-16-2013 at 02:43 PM.. |

Those are AWESOME! The big one in the first picture looks like a 55 gallon drum.

What offsets? These are the exact wheels and sizes I will use for my build.

Thanks ... They are pretty impressive. I was alittle freaked when I originally weighed them and they were alot heavier then the spec. Scale was off a bit. Re weighed and Im really happy. I cant wait to get the TB-15s so I have that new rubber smell in my apartment for a bit, lol.

I went back and forth with this. I had alot of guys with alot of knowledge give me advice on what offset to use. Problem is with custom offsets if they didnt work then I was stuck with the wheels and no one want 15 inch wheels. Over on Early S they said the standard RSR offsets would work just fine. I went -3 and -27. If they dont fit I can exchange them with Braid to swap a different offset. Seemed to be the best route.

Thanks, Bill, that is exactly what I was thinking. I'm also going with the TB15.
Those are going to look killer on your car! I can't wait to see them. |

Did you consider the RSR finish that Braid offers or was it not quite what you wanted?
Just wondering. rford3678 |

Thanks Guys!
I believe they make the 16's too. Not sure about the 17's. Would have to check the site. They do come in RSR finish. Its a good finish but I didnt love it and nor did I want to pay the extra $85 a wheel for it. These were in stock shipped to me in 3 days vs waiting for 3-5 weeks for a custom paint order. I am eventually send them out to Harvey W to have them finished up or just strip and scotchbrite them myself. This route worked the best for me and my tight vacation schedule. |

TBs arrived today. 3 days shipped ... not bad. +1 for Longstone. 10% off and free shipping. Look great on the car in mock fit. Def can fit the 29/61 in the rear next go around. I dont like how the fronts are that much bigger the rears in dia. Didnt think it was going to be that noticeable. With the 29's its only 5mm ... almost nothing. Or mix and match the TB15s and TB5s front and rear to get a better dia ratio. Looking good though.

Played it safe with 26/61 on the rear and 23/62 on the front. Both Mich TB 15's. Next go around I might go TB5's for a better dia ratio for the front to rear. Depend on how fast these wear. The TB15s are a different compound now and are very soft. I wanted full tread. I think I can squeeze 29/61 in the rear and it will make the ratio better but I will lose the rounded look on the 11 inch wheels. Will look more squarish like the front. I might also be able to mismatch between the TB15 and TB5s front and rear. Say maybe the TB15 26/61 in the rear and the TB5 23/59 on the front. The tire would look just right and still fit on a 9 inch rim. But Im very happy with them right now,
.
