Replacing Oil Fed Tensioner Lines
My 2.4 in my 1973.5T was fitted with oil fed tensioner's about 10 years ago. Those rubber hose sections in the feed lines just above and outside of the chain cover are slowly weeping oil indicating they are spent! Getting the left and right replacements are no problem and it appears fairly simple to remove and replace.
The big question is: Do I have to drain my oil to get this done? If anyone can provide first hand experience in performing this replacement please chime in. Thanks Bob 73.5T |

As my engine is out of the car with no oil in it I cannot comment on the need to drain or not. It is an easy job. Be sure to replace the washers on the banjo connectors.
