Anyone Recognize This Muffler

I picked up this used muffler for a project but never installed it and decided to go a different direction. It seems like a well made stainless muffler that appears to be lighter than a stock banana muffler. I snapped a pic of the only markings on it.

I am going to be selling it, but want to make sure I know what I have before posting it.

Thanks - Farrell

That is a pretty junky looking pea shooter. I'll do ya a favor and take it off your hands for $5 plus shipping.

Looks decent but needs to be in the classifieds section with a price, worth every bit of $250+

It depends on the sound and internals.

muffler

Looks like a Monty muffler to me. Stainless steel and the outlets are a little larger than the usual twin outlet sport Muffler. If the outlets are 65mm it is probably a Monty muffler. Dave Aase (rip) used to be a distributor. A friend had one on his car, very nice quality and a great sound. A little loud for some folks though. They are spendy.

Dansk has a muffler with the model number 92 510 so maybe that is what you have. It appears to be for a 1967 911

Good clue on the Dansk model#, thanks. However, that link is to a non-stainless model with what appear to be longer longer tips. Patrick Motorsports sells one similar to mine on their website. I think I will measure the inlets and outlets this weekend and that will likely narrow down what it is.

I wouldn't take anything less than 500 for that.

Just so the moderators dont yell at me.....I am just trying to figure out what it is before listing it. I am not trying to conduct some backhanded auction.

To those that have PMd wanting to buy it, please look out for my ad in the for sale section - I hope to have it up this weekend.

Thanks - Farrell

I've never seen a MOnty that looks like that.

Note the crimps around the 2 shell halves - that means it was part of a mass production line - Dansk assembles mufflers in this way. Only another similarly large co. would have the equipment to do it that way.

I would say it's a Dansk too. The mild steel inlets (as indicated by surface rust) and stainless body are something i've seen on other Dansk mufflers.
