A few more developments on this project.
An issue with the brake upgrade that was supposed to be a bolt in solution, needed up being a time waster while other things could have been assembled... Never mind... Basically some more interior had been assembled. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1387223961.jpg Working with the fiberglass panel for the dash top, was a terrible experience. At the end we manage to find a way to attach it http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1387224085.jpg |
The hole fire extinguisher system is finished (not yet when the photos were taken).
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1387224262.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1387224307.jpg Also the braKe lines are all installed, as well as the hydraulic hand brake. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1387224487.jpg |

Working with fiberglass was not a pleasant experience... But for the first time, the final result was not so bad...

Doors are almost done...
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1388919692.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1388919732.jpg Door top trim had to be modified because of the roll-cage. |
Wow that is looking really impressive Alex!

very nice, keep posting progress!

I'm curious about your painting on the bottom.
Since it will be hit by lots of rocks did you use an epoxy paint? Or powder coating? I've heard that powder coating is hard but chips and is then difficult to repair. What went into your thinking on the paint or treatment for the bottom of the car? |
Thank you all for your comments.
Gearya, this is a car to be used in tarmac. In tarmac rallys there is not so much agression from rocks or dust. The bottom was painted with a black chassis paint for extra protection, over epoxy paint. All the rest was painted with normal paint including the wheel arches where I like to show all the reinforcements done. |
