Fuel Hose Type for Current Fuels?

We are looking at getting 3.2 engine area fuel lines rebuilt locally, being unable to interest a company in Florida to provide this service.
What type of fuel line should be used?
I read a bit and (PTFE) type hose is recommended in a Hot Rod 2011 article.
It seems that gasoline is not what it used to be.
Advice and specific make and model number specifications are welcome.
Thanks.

i used parker 5/16th USCG approved fuel hose. it is lined with impermeable plastic to prevent any fuel from leaching through the hose. available in many sizes.

Look up Gates Barricade hose for fuel injection systems. It should me the SAE J30R9 for pressure.

Be careful with what crimp bands are used. Some are too long and will actually cut the interior of the hose. If you use screw type clamps, just make sure to use the fuel injection type that have a more full circle clamp.

Barricade did not look like it offered the same protection as Teflon. I went with 6an steel braided PTFE myself.

I never smell gas now.

I am with James on this one. I need to change all my fuel lines from fuel filter to fuel distributor and to each injector. Is what James mentioned applicable for all of the applications?
Thank in advance

try to find the 80-82 steel lines from the fuel distributor to the injectors. all the fuel lines on a 78 CSI is going to be a tough one, many small hoses with strange bends and propriety fittings. the fuel tank to the fuel filter is straight forward

Goodyear has some SAE J30R9 hose.

After all this, last night we get a reply from the place in Florida informing that they will take on the job, it seems the contact info. was misplaced. So the 3.2 fuel line set will go there for rebuilding. They use a PTFE hose.

I save threads that I think I might need down the like in Evernote. Superb software!!

Read thru this and make sure they use the right type of collars:

New fuel hose busted-fire narrowly averted

I looked at the USCG rated hose but it didn't meet the SAE J30R9 hose spec for pressure rating. It was rated as a fuel feed hose or vent line, not for the high pressure side of the FI system.

WEW,
If you ae looking to replace the pressurized cis nylon lines you must get the correct type. If the lines are not correct they will flex with pressure and affect the injectors. In this thread I got the correct lines from Verell@unobtainiumsupply.com
CIS Fuel Lines

the new Gates appears to be better than the Goodyear hose - I'm sure they will modify their products

talk to Boxster GT for more info if you need some custom hose/lines made up

I have seen people who are devotees of the crimp type clamps and others who belong to the screw type clamp camp. Not sure if it is just a religious affiliation or what their reasons are...

For Fuel Hoses, the best stuff out of Germany is DIN 73379-3E.

It is a Low Permeation, Multi-Fuel hose with an ECO abrasion resistant outer layer and aramid braiding inside.

This is rated for fuels up to and including E-85.

I import this in bulk to make my Porsche fuel hose assys. I can offer this in lengths up to 20 meters.

Please email me for details.

those clamps look like the ones that cut into the hose and cause fires...

I'd use Norma type clamps
