Any rubbing?

No center caps included, below is from the description:

"Wheels come with black centers and a machined lip

Wheels accept the original 70mm ring clip cap standard on most Porsche® vehicles.

Center caps and lug nuts sold separate."

The one thing you got to say about the Euro's is that even if they are not "forge" or "real", they did an excellent job capturing the original look of the real wheel. They look factory in every way when you look at them, the pics on Draco's car show this well enough!

Looks f'ing awesome!

What offsets are built into these wheels?

Are either of your fender lips rolled or otherwise modified for clearance?

Do you have spacers on the front and/or rear?

I apologize for answering for Draco. Just to answer the off set question, the wheels come with factory off-sets, so on front 17x7 are 23.3 and the 17x9 are 15. The lip rolling and spacer question Im sure Draco can answer that; but I have read of others who have installed the wheels with tires as they come and they don't have to do anything.

I did roll mine but that was way before I purchased these wheels, PO alignment was way off with the C2's, in fact had positive camber and cause the lip to snag. So I decided to roll the lips even before I aligned it. After alignment, I saw rolling was not needed, but better safe then sorry. :D

With proper alignment and -0.75 camber for extra measure, it clears perfectly.

Confirmed, no addition spacers needed and I went to 225's up front which is pretty much the limit. I think the rears could have gone one size wider but I am still pleased with the outcome.

The feel is so nice, steering is lighter when I park and car seem peppier/lighter off of stop.

Draco,

I rolled my fenders this weekend, couldn't stop the paint from cracking in a couple spots.

Did this happen to you?

Suggestions on making sure it doesn't get worse...?

Joe Bob 03-10-2013 04:56 PM

Once cracked the only repair is spot refinishing.

911SauCy 03-10-2013 04:58 PM

Right...what I was afraid of.

I am still going to use a paint pen to "fill" the crack in an effort to limit it getting worse. It is a little hairline, not like the paint cracked and is about to flake off.

Heating the paint, using the right tool and doing it slowly is also a help in future endeavors,,,,

I actually had a very reputable race shop with quite the body shop here in CT do it...apparently enough care/time was not taken.

I guess I've been lucky....ambient temps out here are higher that CT.....hard to critique...I've used a special tool, a thick walled PVC pipe, a wooden or aluminum ball bat. Pretty much everything except my ex wife's severed arm....;)

Killing me:mad:

DRACO A5OG 03-10-2013 05:31 PM

+1, I heated mine to keep it from cracking, but some areas did crack, but i was going to have it painted in any case so it was no big deal for me.

While waiting i did touch up several coats and used heat gun to making harder so it would just not flake off.

911SauCy 03-10-2013 05:35 PM

Draco, you got the inner fenders painted? Or the whole car?

Did/how long did the touch-up last?

DRACO A5OG 03-10-2013 05:41 PM

I had just the fenders, valance, bumper, hood and lip painted, inner part was not touched. I requested the painter use textured paint for the under lip like the lower front valance.

Touch up actually lasted 4+ years with the touch up paint with sever coats and cured by the heat gun. It actually hardened and glossed nicely. Even thru my infrequent DE's

My car being just a weekend cruiser (for now) I am really excited to hear this.

Thanks for the info, your car looks great!

DRACO A5OG 03-11-2013 04:48 PM

No problemo,

You know I did not think I would like the look as much as I do, for some reason these look bigger then my 17" C2's, I know, optical illusion since they are same tires and all
