Let's see your gauges!

OK, I just got my gauges back today from a guy named Al Garcia I bumped into through a friend of a friend I met here. He does great work and I just stuck these in and lit them up. Yes I got excited about this and just wanted to show some other Porsche people because my fiancé could care less.

The rest of the car is still in restoration mode but coming up to being able to see the light at the end of the tunnel soon!

So let's see what you guys have done too. I probably should have asked this before sending mine out because inevitably I'll wind up with some new ideas. :roll eyes:

Nice, Robbie. Very nice. Look at all those zeros on the odometer - OOOOOOOHHHHH! My gauges look just like everyone else who's done the SuperBrite LED's (see other threads). Maybe I'll post a pic later. - Rich

thanks man, I figured this was not a new thread idea. Like I said... I'm like a kid with a new toy and wanted to show someone. :-)

The zeros are a bit ominous! The car is a a total tear down to bare metal and start over all the way back up again project. For the amount of time effort and $$ i've thrown at this thing bringing everything to new or like new condition (including the engine and tranny of course) I want to see some zeros! LOL! Come to think of it... even those odo gears are new. :-)

The first shot is a tach cluster gauge I made a few years back for our race car. The light at the 3:00 position is a shift light. The gauge at the left is a dual a/f gauge by Westach. The second shot is a gauge I finished a few months back. The small bottom gauge in the tach is a Innovate LC-1 a/f gauge. The partial gauge to the left is a 3 gauge combo I made, oil temp/oil pressure/gas gauge, amp & oil lights at the top.

Mazing - I like how you have mixed the LED colors in your gauges to provide "warning" areas on the gauge sweeps. Cool idea!

I'd like to get one of the combo ammeter/cylinder head temp gauges to put in the place of my non-functional clock.

But I have no clue how I would route the wires from the engine bay to the dash for the CHT sensor. I'm guessing the battery positive would be the single ammeter lead, with the dash ground, being the , umm, ground.

Jeremy D , what kind of rings do you have around the gauges? It looks like they are black and shiny. I have neverbeen able to find anything like that for sale. What is it, where'd you get it? Tks

Mine are actually green font / early 911 / late 356 type - with chrome bezals - tough to photograph. Done by North Hollywood Speedometer.

Regarding the small silver centers on these gauges: can you buy these separately and swap them over or is a job for a gauge specialist?
