Porsche Crest Can you help with power windows issue?

Hi all,

I got a set of power window regulators off an SC for my 1975 911.
I went to put them in last night and realized after taking the old ones out that my window "attachments" don't have the "channel" Wayne is talking about in his book. What am I missing? Do I need different glass or different attachment pieces for the glass to make this work?
Thanks!

Cool

Mike..not sure exactly what the issue is, but there is an upgrade to your stock window regulators..hope you have the new style regulators which require a new hole to be drilled for a new brace/whatever on the upgraded regulator...more interesting is that the new hole "spot" was also upgraded by Porsche to a new "spot". The stock window steel support channel can be reused, but the position on the glass gets moved, I believe...not near my hard book info. till Sept....may be difficult to remove old steel glass channel to reset...may be safer to grind a slice in old steel window channel for glass removal and buy a new/old channel....if power windows, I believe new regulators get a motor with new motor mounting points...IMO, get all info. for upgrade before doing job, install all new rain seals, and new window channel "felt"..for a more solid sound when closing/slamming door install a few square feet of Dynamat or Brown Bread sound deadner to outer skin and grease the door latch from inside the door...I would also adjust the window frame angle after raising and lowering window a couple of times with window angle free to move in/out...I think I'm clear on my info...if you need more e-mail "bell" ...I will see him Sunday nite.............Ron
