how to save a 911 from the junk yard

first i must explain that i bought the car for 500 dollars figuring that there may be some salvageable parts well after looking the car over i like an idiot decided to rebuild it
i know what your all thinking why would you go to all the trouble when a roller is so cheap well with help from pelican web i found all the body panels and roof for a great deal and also one of the best body shops in ohio doing some fantastic work these guys are great so the story begins

The classifieds here make projects like yours a lot more affordable. I know that I've saved tons of money salvaging my targa thanks to the great folks here. Of course, I was able to drive my purchase home. . . Ha!

Good luck to you sir!

personally i always wanted to throw a 3.6 into an older 911 but funds and space don't permit it for me at this point.

Hold on, all I see is some primer at this point and you are in for $6,000? Tell us the rest of the story.

I figured I'd help this tread along a little bit and put together a little start to current pictorial of this project. I have to say at first sight we where a little surprised at the decision to save this old girl, but most of the fire damage was limited to the dash and outer skin. The rest of the tub was probably one of the cleanest we had ever seen here in Ohio. Anyway onto the pics.

The first look wasnt a good one she was looking pretty bad on the trailer.

A little love and some careful body saw work and she was relieved of all the fire damaged skin.

A little rough fitting of all the "new" passenger quarter panel.

"new" non sunroof roof panel and inner structure.

Gutsy, have to hand it to you. My wife would castrate me if I rolled up the driveway with a car looking that way. Interested to see how you move forward with this project. Subbed.

I am confused. Why does the grey car in the paint booth have turbo fenders! The car with the black fenders and red roof has narrow fenders. I need a drink...
