Ducktail, before and after

I added a Getty ducktail (courtesy of our sponsor), fitted and painted by Phil's Body Shop in Seattle, a John Walker recommendation. They did a first rate job.

Before and after photos:

I just did the same on my silver 79 coupe, and I was amazed how it settled the car down at high highway speeds, you know, driving across the country, there are some places with speed limits of 75 and higher, totally legal , at those speeds the car becomes far less twitchy, very nice.....I like the look, too.

Jeff, did you notice any changes in how she drives?

Sonett, Looks like the trip is going well. Cannot wait to see how it looks when done!

Jeff, The ducktail looks great! Although, to be honest, I think both decklids look great on your car. Nice to have options.

Might I say, the Ducktail on a Targa really looks good. Ive always been a Coupe kinda guy, but that ducktail really completes the car for a really clean look.

That's a great-looking mod, Jeff. It almost makes me want to replace the fiberglass wing on the back of my targa! Nice colour, too.

Looks great with the Duck and Carrera side decal.

My ducktail will be going to the bodyshop in a few weeks.

yep. this is my new wallpaper.

you must be the only other owner of a kiln red metallic 911. i've been to hershey 5 years in a row and never saw another porsche painted our color. from what i understand it was a special order only option in '83, not sure about '84.

I went from the traditional tea tray spoiler to a duck I think it looks much better.

I'm pretty close, not sure if its exactly the same. I believe it was a special order color in '79 as well.
