take your time Mike and post pictures. i've never dropped an engine either. it seems to be a right of passage here. i haven't heard a negative from anyone yet. good luck. i know my time is coming too, since i've been burning some oil also.

My engine drop took about 2 hours with my wife helping me. I used a motorcycle jack under the motor, with some plywood and short pieces of 4x4 wood as blocks to help spread the load, and my racing jack under the end of the tranny for extra stability & control.
The only mistake I made was I forgot to disconnect the harness from the bulkhead behind Cyl #3, so I broke the connector as I lowered it out of the car.
