Worst 911 Color?

There are lots of threads on best 911 colors, but they cannot all be "best."

So what color is worst?

It's definitely period specific. In the 80s the early 70s colors were out. Now they are back in, even sepia is a hot color. Right now everyone seems down on Guards Red, and in another few years who knows?

But was pink ever good on any car? That'd be my choice. I'll take it one further: Plastidip matte finish pink on everything. It would look like a giant, rolling Pepto-Bismol bottle. Not a good look.

I think mobius911 is dead on: PERIOD SPECIFIC

I had a Teal car in 1990.....wouldn't want it now! Loved and dreamed of Guards Red in the 80's and have no desire to own one currently. Not sure I would have loved the 70's comp cars in the past, but have Vintage Mustangs in them and a 72' 911 in it. Looking at GT3 color scheme with orange highlights on my 993TT look.

I'm doing my 73' in BEIGE GRAY. I know for a fact that this might be just as much a PERIOD in LIFE as in my youth (also my boys) would have hated it.....esp with a luggage rack on top LMAO.

So I'm going to add "period of life" to "period specific in decades" as styles change in respect to both.

My 69 912 was painted Grand Prix White in the late 80's atop a somewhat kelly green that was atop the original Leaf Green. The next paint job will be Leaf Green.

Gold is the worst I have seen. I have a Guard's Red and at least once a day I get complimented on it and a few times a week someone wants to buy it. The color is really a So Cal kind of thing.

The car I bought is light metallic green and was for sale for ages, I think mainly due to the colour. Like Zimmerman? I think said, colour should be the least important consideration. Green was not my first or even third choice, but I got a great car and the colour has really grown on me.

Yep, I agree. I have a '72 that was originally Sepia Brown. A previous owner painted it red. If it was still brown, it would be worth more money, but it wouldn't be parked in my garage. Sorry Sepia fans!
