All good advice Chris, thank you.
I'll do my homework on the front suspension and report back. We found the trailing arm bushing twisted up and replaced them with ER sport units, no doubt from whatever's wrong on the front end.

Jack the front using the single pivot point and check the rears stay nice and even. If they do and then go all crazy when you drop the front back on its wheels then you need to adjust the diagonally opposite front adjuster to restore the balanced setup at the rear. eg. lifting the front rhs will drop the rear lhs. At this point the front heights should be the same when you put all the wheels back on the ground, sometimes you need to wind one front down a bit and the other up a bit. Scales are essential to do it properly but you can get it drivable using the pivot method. Don't forget a short drive is usually necessary to settle things, although pushing back and forth and pumping the suspension by hand can help if the car is not mobile. I do a less than elegant dance leaping up and down on the door sill in that situation.

Thanks, with your help, we were able to successfully finish lowering the car. We were able to identify the problem being the front's adjustable bolts settings and corrected it (pushing the right rear down). It'll be off for final corner balancing during final clean up work.

The pics are with both front tires on the ground. Tires are set at 35 psi.
Went from this, to this:

Now:
  • Installed ER sport trailing arm bushings
  • Rear spring plates set to 28 degrees - PO had them set at 30, 25 degrees (l and r)
  • Adjusted front adjustable bolts - PO had them extremely different to make up for the 30/25 difference
  • Both rear tires are set at 28 and raise off the ground at same time

Thanks again, learned a lot about rear suspension and corner balancing.

Also installed new boots while we waited for parts:

Now freed up for the next project: replacing the rear brakes with steel braided lines (DOT approved), new porsche pads, and a caliper facelift.

Thanks again!!
