But it won't work better than a single K27-7200.
The ONLY reason you would twin turbo a little engine is the cool factor. There will be NO SIGNIFICANT GAIN in power or driveability and a VERY significant gain in complexity and expense. Nothing wrong with cool. Just the facts Mam.

Hi,
Jocke, as Rarly points out, it's true that two turbos won't increase your peak horsepower, but a well designed twin turbo system will yeild much better low and midrange torque. At the end, it all depends on your hp goal. I was running the single turbo route for a few years now, and I love it but I wanted more power so I was debating; twin or single. I decided to go with twin for two reasons. The first being the coolness factor, ![]() That said, it is much easier to build a well running single turbo engine than it is to build a twin. Mismatching turbos to a particular engine can be very disapointing or disasterous. Using the early exchangers is a good idea, it's true that they arent the best turbo headers, like shorty style units, but they are tons better than your current setup, so you have much to gain from using them. Using WydRyd's idea of placing the two turbos on the sides is a good one, if you dont mind moving your oil tank. Then, you would be able to use gravity drain. If not, you could place them in back, where your muffler should be (as in the picture above) and get a high flow sump pump (I forget who makes em) to suck out the oil from custom made sumps. Also, for a 3.0 liter, I wouldnt go for t3's, but instead, a couple of Garrett t25's with a turbine a/r of .47-.49. These turbos are easy to find on ebay because they come on second generation Eclipses and Talons and are pretty cheap. Hope this helps Mike 86 Carrera (soon tt) |

2 small turbos will spool up alot quicker than a single humongous turbo, Twin turbos will give you boost quicker, which is a good thing. More power at lower rpms, better throttle response, theses are good things.
And the cool factor cant be denied Factory 935 headers can be had for around $3000(depending on your bargaining skills)
