i was simply putting it into terms for people who don't know charging systems could understand, so i made a small mistake....big deal.
i'm not even going to get started "defending" myself, i have the bosch handbook, my "technical notes" have been aquired from some very inteligent engineers.
AND i'm going to leave the "treatise" comment alone, if i was publishing something i wouldn't be posting it on the internet.

No need to defend yourself bell, theories and other handbook type information are all well and good but real world experiences are a whole different thing. Sure neither of our experiences with Optima batteries is a scientific test but I find it to be more than a coincidence that you and I as well as several others I know IRL have had the same issues with these batteries on totally different cars. Besides the request was for opinions on which battery to choose, not for a comphrehensive explanation of charging systems.

i simply dabled in the short explaination of the charging system since it the optimas were brought up,and having alot of experience with them on my and customer cars i felt the info could be beneficial. i didn't get into detail until it was requested.
no harm done.
