MFI drive belt replacement question
My MFI drive belt broke and when I went to replace it I determined that the timing mark on the "spur wheel" is no longer visible. It appears to have worn off. I'm talking about the dot that is supposed to be on the cogged wheel as shown in this drawing:
![]() I removed the three allen bolts and took the wheel off and looked for the mark under a magnifying light but I can't find any trace of the mark. Although the wheel is worn I believe the cogs are still still distinct enough to operate the new belt so I'm not going to hunt down a new spur wheel. So my question is: How do I set the injection pump to the end of the delivery stroke (the FE mark) so I can reinstall the spur wheel and belt with correct timing? In other words, how do I confirm that the injection pump is at the end of the delivery stroke without being able to use the normal method of lining up the FE mark on the crankshaft pulley with the mark on the fan shroud and then aligning the spur wheel mark with the line on the brown plate? I understand that the MFI belt timing doesn't have to be perfect but I'd like to get it as close as possible. Any help appreciated.

I should have looked harder before I posted! The answer is to line up the timing mark on the silver plate under the cogged wheel with the timing mark on the brown plate. Apparently, the timing mark on the cogged wheel wears off over time but the mark on the silver plate beneath the wheel remains. Here is a picture that Mark Jung posted earlier:
