Help me choose some racing tow hooks please
I am targeting the details for a possible glass-out respray of my 1979 911SC to be done on a very tight budget. As part of this, I plan to replace the front and rear impact bumpers with RS "S" and RS style bumpers respectively. One detail I need to address is front and rear racing tow hooks. The few I've priced seemed spendy and I am also not sure which ones are suitable for my particular application. Any suggestions would be appreciated, including any appropriate offerings from our host.
Below are front and rear tow hooks on a friend's PCA Club Racing D car. Something along the lines of these is what I am after (and I am partial to red hooks as it coordinates well with the green car imo). Thanks! ![]() ![]()

Can you borrow your friends tow hooks?
Pattern them, then have a machine shop duplicate them for you. Will save you some bucks.

If you can find a scrap piece of 6061t6 aluminum. Its easy to cut your own with a jig saw and a good quality blade.

I don't like the tow hooks that are part of the engine support. If you have a tow guy that jerks the tow strap/cable accidentally, it could easily tweak the engine mounts and/or support members. Better to put your tow hooks on the rear bumper shock mount points or on the lower shock absorber bolt.
