Unlimited budget?
A 917-30 for the track, or a 962 CR for the street. Who hoo!

You guys do dream big.

I have more simple needs.

I'd do a '73 RS replica, using a '73 non-sunroof coupe chassis, a 3.6 with MFI, white with blue stripes/wheels, from a cosmetics standpoints just a simple RS clone.

Yeah, that would do it. I would drive it every day.

JimT,
I like the way you think...keep it simple. Too much flash and people might think its a kit-car.

Well, what would I create? I suppose I would create my '71 2.2T with added lightness.

Seriously, I would do a 790kg ST with 260 hp!

I vote for a 1972T based ST replica.

Body
1972 T for the oil tank
F/G ST flared fenders on the front
F/G ST flared rear quarter panels
F/G S-Bumper
911R F/G doors
Lexan windows all around
F/G decklid
Center-filler neck plastic gas tank (filler hole through hood for effect)

Suspension
31f/27r mm Smart Racing swaybars
Coilovers all around
ERP front suspension with monoballs
ERP rear springplate kit
Aluminum trailing arms with monoballs
AJ-USA Strut bar
Fikse/Kinesis/Lindsey racing 17" 9x11 rims
Hoosier/Kumho/Yokohama rubber

930 brakes all around

G50 Tranny with the right ratios
LSD
3.8liter motor with GE-80 cams, Motec FI, AASE springs, pauter rods, boattailed and balanced

Wrap it up in bright yellow paint with blue striping and I'll take it.

Rick

Wayne--
Jumping on late, just back from vacation. I can't believe nobody's mentioned a 959 replica, given the beauty and price tag of the real thing. Impractical to duplicate the car exactly, but how about a 959 body shell on a 3.6 turbo? Build it and we can negotiate purchase price.

I'll play. Take a 993. Sawzall off the rear clip and attach a tube frame for mid engine layout. Install twin turbo. Cover it with a GT1 body.

Sounds crazy? Check out the Gunnar Racing website where they built a tube frame GT1. Pure p0rn.

Do you mean like this?

Just arrived 10/30/2008 ............

This is what it looked like at Beck........

It will get a 2.8 RSR type motor w Motec.

Should be a fun project.

I would want a 904, 906, 908 replica maybe created from a very small portion of remains of another Porsche to claim a streetable "hot rod modification".

I am thinking of Henry's 66mm stroke 9000rpm screamer motor as the engine.
Make mine white with a few graphics.

these sounds spot on to me... but i'd also add a pristine, overpowered slant nose.

Man, that is like trying to choose among all the beautiful woman in the world.

Love the 911R, ST, RS, IROC, RSR 2.5, 3.0. They are all great.

Yellow Bird was the first that came to mind but under a 2.7RS body with 10" flairs out back.

Could be single Turbo. Could be a sequential trans. Would have to be light. No tunes, light weight interior. Could have 935 seat (s). Could have a ST seat on the passenger side and Recro Pole for driver.

Yes, a carbon fiber body with a peak of the CF on the roof panne.
RS 2.7 body, RUF sourced 3.8 twin turbo motor with inter-coolers hidden in the side panels installed.

Shoot, if we are dreaming have RUF build it.

Maeby with sequential shifter on the steering wheel.
