Front Spindle Spacer O-ring size problem
The o-ring, that goes between the front wheel bearing spacer and the front spindle, is listed as 25.3mm ID in PET. PP sent me the 25.3mm o-ring.
But the spindle is ~39mm in diameter. I think this is an error by Porsche; the o-ring sent is way too small. What is the correct size, and where do you get them?

If it's the o-ring I'm thinking of, mine seemed way to small aswell. It stretched quite a bit.
I ordered it from the dealership by the OEM part#

I was wondering also. The same O-ring is listed for the speedo drive, and this is way smaller. However I had a few in stock, so I looked at fitting it. The conclusion I came to was that it really needed to be stretched. Would like confirmation though.

When I installed mine, I believe I just rolled it up the spindle till it was in place. It stretched itself. Once you put that metal spacer back on, the o-ring is never seeing the light of day again.

+1 to this. Mine was exactly the same...I had to roll it onto the spindle to stretch it into place, and then install the metal spacer.

It sounds like this oring is a real oddball.
Normally you would never try to stretch one so much. |

I bet o-ring is intended to stretch to clear fit between fillet on spindle & the collar?
I too noticed the stretch when installing spindle spacers for my VCI brakes |

And so it seems this little oring is the correct solution to adding a little bit of sealing to the spacer ring.
Thanks to everyone who responded! |
