Porsche Crest SC Engine Lid Question

Help needed with an engine lid replacement. What years would fit an 81 SC coupe? Are the 3.0 SC and 3.2 Carrera lids identical? Search shows two part numbers: 911.512.010.65 GRV and 911.512.010.57? Why am I having a tough time finding them used in excellent condition?

I think the Carrera badge is glued on whereas the earlier cars had holes drilled in the lid for the badge. otherwise they are the same.

'64 thru '73 lids have the lights in the trailing edge, but they are all interchangeable
silver is '74 up, blue is '73 & earlier

I got a very nice 79 SC one on the UsedPartsSite for $250 + shipping. I've been looking for about a month and found junk for about $100 and very good as high as $350. New goes for $1050. $400 is pretty steep. I don't know why there aren't more available. There should be plenty sitting in garages considering the number that were swapped out for aftermarket lids?

Hi Mark just left you a VM regarding the one you may be selling. I am beginning the search for a Decklid now that I just sold the tail off of my 1977 911S. Sorry Jim not trying to snake it from you if your interested, but I may be interested if you pass on it.

Thanks!

Regards...

No problem. I called Mark, he wants to sell the lid off the SC he's currently driving. White I think. Was interested, but he never returned my repeated emails. Got mine. Good luck.
