How many levels are required to do this?

How many superbright LEDs are required to do all the dash lights?

Now I suppose it's possible the poster has very dim garage lighting, but that doesn't seem likely. Look also at the steering wheel; the camera's exposure worked pretty hard, using its average-weighted metering system, to bring out the foreground. And yet still, even that didn't overexpose the gauges. Nice try, though.
You are correct, as I snapped the picture with my iPhone, and although it was in the garage, it was daytime and my garage has windows. The LED offerings by eTarga are superb. There was no attempt to make them look either good or bad in the dash photo, just as I saw them. I am no shill for eTarga, all I am saying is that I like the final result.
I'm pretty picky about certain things on my cars, and being able to see the gauges at a glance is one of them. For this reason I had not driven my 911 at night in several years. Now it's a pleasure to use at night and I know people can also see my brake lights clearly too, which was always a night time safety concern in the past.

direct comparison: left combo gauge are the LEDs from superbrightLEDs, the ones in the speedo are mine. Take your pick. I did not take this picture, Mike did after he installed my LEDs. He is giving away the ones he bought from Superbright LEDs for free.

And btw those in the speedo are my vintage white LEDs, my superwhites are even brighter.

I have the Etarga Led's all around. Fantastic, cheap upgrade. If you don't have them, get them!

I had trouble installing the lights in the tach. Do I have to remove the cable, come in through the trunk or ?? Thanks, the other gauges were a snap.

Make sure the before and after are at the same ISO, shutter speed, aperture and EV correction. I made sure to keep these variables constant with ETarga's product. ISO 1250, 1/30, f2.8. EV+1.0. I went with the vintage to not get too much fakey blue. Pricey, but they look great. Here are the before and after:

Could someone please confirm how many LEDs would be needed for a set of Carrera gauges? I found the following chart from one of the vendors - is 8 white, 1 blue, 1 green, 1 red correct? Someone mentioned 10 white?

Nice listing. I think that for the 5 gauges 8 bulbs are needed for all 911/912, for illumination.
1 for the Gas/Oil level
1 for the clock
2 each for Oil Temp/Press, Tach, and Speedo

I never saw a reason to replace the high beam blue, the parking green, and the turn indicator, since the bulb is illuminating only the little hole, which has the colored lens.

Check out the testing I did with some new LED's

Testing some Instrument LED

Had superbrights but they don't hold a candlepower to E Targa's wares. Don't be a chump and go with stuporbrights. E Targa also warranties and stands behind his product.

I had posted and PM'd Etarga in hopes of getting his very highly regarded LED kits for a full upgrade (exterior too if he has those) but have not heard back. I understand he had some family issues to tend to.

Does anyone know if his products are available through Pelican or other source? I am in need!

I received Englebert's (rothaus) LEDs in the mail. I will get them installed soon and post here for everyone.

I too had inquired about Etarga's a while back and didn't get a reply. I also heard he was busy dealing with something. Not wanting to be a pest, I didn't push the subject so I was very happy to see what Englebert has developed. I'm finishing up some other work on the car. Waiting for parts so I can get things out back together and then I will post. Got my clock back from Palo Alto so that's a step..

My dash looks precisely as the other posters who used the cheap versions. I'm not at all unhappy with it for my $15, and it's a huge leap forward from my half burned out set of reg. lights.

It's obvious though with comparison that ETarga has managed to put together a somehow brighter more fully lit set. You get what you pay for, ONE situation where I'm fine with my cheapout.

Old post i know,.... but it is very comprehensive........ the only question that remained unanswered was weather or not any of these bulbs are dimmable.

Anyone ?
