Installing window glass onto regulator - help!

Car is a '76 911 Targa to Cab conversion. A while back my driver's door latch broke so I had to remove the window glass to pull the old latch out.

Now it's time for installation. I re-installed the latch, window rails, and slid the glass window back down into the door. Now I can't figure out how to put the window onto the regulator track. Is there a trick for doing this? Do I need to angle the window a certain way to get it onto the track?

The Bentley claims "installation is opposite of removal" - not very useful when removal was done a while back and not fresh in the memory. Plus the book doesn't give a visual or highlight this step well. I searched the forum but there isn't much information highlighting this one particular step either.

Any help would be appreciated. Here is a photo of the window sitting at the bottom of the door with the regulator track disconnected. What needs to happen here?

There should be a round cut out somewhere on the track that you can slip the one wheel into.
The other wheel should slide in from the end.

The only wheel I see is the one that the regulator arm is attached to which makes the arm slide horizontally. Should there be a wheel attached to the bottom of the window frame or on the back of the regulator? I might be missing it... hmm.

Bump - can anyone show me a proper schematic of this or where that little wheel is supposed to go... somehow I cannot find it on my mechanism... it may have popped off when it was taken off.

Don't have any good shots of it but if all else fails, pull the door panel off the other side to see what it looks like. Might be a good time to service that side too.

That looks like a later cross-arm style of regulator. There are a couple of technical articles that talk about these and how to change them. Have a look here:

Pelican Technical Article: 911 Window Regulator Replacement

There also another one in the same section of the technical articles page that has more photos.

Thanks for the replies. I will take a look at it again and take apart the door panel on the other side if I cannot get it on.
