Pic Request of Original (70-71) Inner Fender Support
Hey guys,
Trying to piece together my 71 911 and any help would be awesome! It looks like the original inner fender support bracket (the one that mounts to the battery box L shaped) doesn't actually mount to the headlight bucket like the passenger side (which is [ shaped). So, I am trying to figure out what mounts to the headlight bucket? After some research it looks like this may only be on 70-71 cars..maybe??? An example pic below of another car from the internet. As you can see the bracket doesn't bolt to the headlight bucket. But I cant clearly see what is bolted to the headlight bucket. ![]() ![]() |

From my recollection of cars I have owned, nothing connects to the headlight bucket, except of course the wiring harness..

The detachable L bracket attaches to the battery box on either side and the supports the ends of the bumper. The battery box then has a small tab on the top back corner that then attaches to the small tab on the bottom of the headlight bucket.
Here's what that looks like ![]() ![]() |
