72 911 fuse order

What is the proper order of the fuses in a 72 911? I have looked at a couple cars, and they seem to be different. I mean order as far as amps (color) of the fuses. I have a bare fuse box with no fuses in it. Thanks all.

From the 1972 owners manual:

upper box or box one in the luggage compartment; (10 fuse positions) top to bottom, rating in amps: 5,16,25,16,16,25,25,16,5,5

lower box or box two in the luggage compartment; (8 fuse positions) top to bottom, rating in amps:
8,8,8,8,5,5,5,16

box three in the engine compartment on the electrical chassis on the driver's side of the compartment under the plastic cover - if the cover still exists, (3 fuse positions) top to bottom, rating in amps: 5,8,25

5 amp fuses are yellow
8 amp fuses are white
16 amp fuses are red
25 amp fuses are blue

Cheers, Jim

Any chance of any 72 owners being able to carefully remove, and scan, the paper insert with the listings on it? Or, if that's not possible, to snap a picture... or type out the list?

Mine are still intact, Jack. Unfortunately, it only lists what the fuse is for, not the amp rating.

Yup, that was the problem. Every car I looked at had different amp fuses in different places. I needed a good "unmolested" car as an example. Thanks guys!!

Yeah, my thinking is to take a copy of the paper inserts, scan it, and then add the amp numbers.

Hi Guys, that's GeorgeK on Nick's computer. He is over my shoulder ordering me around, so here is a scan that may help you all.

Do a search on "fused box labels" with Pope as the author. As I remember, the 70/71/72/73 fuse box label files are available there. Print on heavy stock paper, and laminate for durability. Mine turned out great.

Make that fuse, not fused.

The car is still the same. Plenty of people like me search old threads for valuable info like this.

Yes i know but the response seems odd. Actually, this reminds me of a joke:
