89 silver anniversary center console removal
I have a 1989 silver anniversary 911 coupe in need of shifter bushing rebuild.
Step one is to remove the console. Problem is this console is not like those in a normal 1989 911. Anyone have tips on how to remove my console? Thanks in advance for any help. Art |

1989Art911: If you're still here, what did you learn about removing your '89 Silver Anniversary Edition console? I am the original owner of mine, just had the shift bushing go today, after 35 years and 95K miles. I'm getting ready to dig into it, but not sure how it differs from standard G50 consoles. Thanks.

My advice is go find the parts catalog for you car. It is available for free from Porsche.com
I have a 85 911 and I just did that bushing replacement. It is a real tedious and not fun process. I removed my driver's side seat and steering wheel just to have the access to the console. Find the parts catalog, and it will show you an exploded view drawing of the console. Take a lot of pictures of everything as you take it apart. And good luck.
