If your dealer won't order it call international autos in Waukesha, ask for the porsche department
And see if they will order you one. Again they want to see the title for proof of ownership so you may have to fax or email them a picture of it. But call first they are very professional and acomidating. Parts 262-754-0911 x354

Our host doesn't seem to offer key blanks for that particular year. However, if you search the web for "1969 Porsche key blank," you will find them widely available for $10 +/-. It takes a few minutes to get the door handle off and a few bucks to have a key cut...seems easier and considerably less expensive than jumping through hoops at a dealership or with Porsche Cars North America.

There is a paper sticker on the ignition lock ( the metal steering lock part, not the electric switch) with the ignition key code. You will need a mirror, flashlight, and flexible neck to find it, but once in your hand almost any locksmith can cut you a key.

Phil

Figured I would close the loop on this one.

I talked to Tony and had to remove my lock cylinder from my door handle and send it to him. He decoded the pins and cut me a key.

Pretty straight forward process and cost me $40 plus the shipping to him.

One project down one gazillion left.
