brake caliper piston insertion

Hello: Am rebuilding my 88 911 calipers. All clean, soaker inner seal in brake fluid, have the lub our host cells, 20 deg angle but cant push piston in. Any techniques for those before me. Press them in?

just got one piston in with more lub less brake fluid.

A press is ok, but if you can't press them in by hand you probably dont have them going in straight.

It is straight. With finger pressure I can piston it in and out about 1-2 mm. Hear a suction in line intake when I do it. It just does not want to pass the seal.

Wiggled back and forth with a vice grip on safe part of pistion while pressing in. It is the outer ring that is the next challenge

I use a c clamp.

that helped. Am now going round and round trying to push outer seal on the rear. Front was easy

A c clamp with a socket inside the caliper works well
