European Side Marker Light Location

This thread has been previously posted in the Forum, but the responder never posted any dimensions to actually locate the mounting hole in the fender. Would someone who has an 80's vintage 911, with the side marker light installed by the factory, please respond with the following dimensions: Distance from the top of the headlight trim-ring, running along the top of the fender to a point perpendicular to and above the leading (front) of the side marker light lens = ?? Distance from the bottom of the door, up and perendicular to the bottom side of the side marker lens = ?? I have contacted my local P+A dealer and they have "No Idea", as the side marker light is "Euro Only". Also spoke with the "Porsche Guy" at PP today, who didn't know, nor was he able to offer a possible source of this info. (Need an "80's Guy"; is anyone left?) Many Thanks.

How to wire as a repeater. You may consider not having it on all the time with the head lights, The bulb gets extremely hot and will melt the plastic housing. Ask me how I know:

I suppose if one puts an IROC or CTR front bumper that eliminates the front side lights (or eliminates it with the factory rubber part) then there is nothing on the side to indicate your turn signal is on. A safety issue.

I recommend really getting that position right. I looked at a car once that had it in the wrong position and it really threw off the look of the front wing.

You people are harsh. Why don't you go find a puppy to beat, maybe that will make you feel better. As far as the side marker, do whatever makes you happy. Since most people have converted to euro style headlights, rather than upgrading their sugar scoops to H4s, most don't have legs to stand on with their criticism.

I am adding them to my SC from a safety perspetive. The more people around you are aware of your intentions, the safer you will be.
