The LEDs work great, BTW! I feel like I'm back in the modern age when I turn the lights on!

Thumbs up Installed these this AM

25 minutes start to finish, didn't need to remove the steering wheel but the tach was a tight squeeze. The difference is literally night and day. Just a few things...

I need to figure out why my high beam indicator isn't working, but it wasn't working when I started either.

One of the instrument lights in the fuel gauge wasn't a BA7, so I re-used the existing bulb and added the LED to the other socket, still looks great.

Two thumbs up!!

Thanks for posting your feedback.

Did you take a picture of the socket in the fuel gauge ? Would be good to know what other type of bulbs are in there.

I which other socket did you use the LED ?

Thanks
Engelbert

There was a BA7 socket in the gauge in addition to the oddball one. There was no metal base on the bulb, just glass with 2 wires inserted into a plastic socket. I'll get some pics and take a closer look when I get some time.

LED Turn Signal Indicator bulbs ????

Are turn signal indicator bulbs available in LED yet (for a '78 SC)?

I am going to order a LED set, but the faint turn signal indicator is the light I DONT SEE the most & I would love to have fixed.
My loud muffler (& no insulation pad) means that I dont hear the turn clicker either.

In a huge thread on LEDs I found this post.

A PM to one of these guys that have researched dash lights may provide the answer for you.

I have not tested yet how they would work for the turn signal indicator.

These color LED will have only one LED on top since the only need to shine straight.

As soon I got them I will post some results.

Thanks

Englebert -
Since I already had you soft-white set, which installed and worked perfectly TY, (I only have one bulb and a need for one spacer in my clock, is that odd?), so I got two green signal LEDs from Jake. I removed the old signal bulbs and plugged in the green LEDs. They didn't light up on either side yet I heard the signal stat clicking. Flip the bulbs over in the socket and they light up all the time, move the lever to signal left and the right signal blinks brighter (but is never off) Signal right, same thing. Put the oem bulbs back, works perfectly. Any ideas?

I got the green LED's for the Parking light indicator, however, I have not tested if these LED's working for the turn signal indicator lights in the Tach.

I hope to get them test before the end of this week.

Cheers

I got one of these for my turn signal from Etarga. I don't believe he advertizes them, but he has them occasionally. They are awesome.

I got two from him also, but they caused all sorts of odd problems. Plug them in one way they are on all the time. flip them and they don't do anything. Put the stock bulbs back, perfect (but too dim!)....

Are the turning signal indicator bulbs different in your car, like the one pictured by zelrik911 above, or they are BA7s ?

I will take a look what's in my SC, but I thought they are BA7s.

Cheers

They are the small bulbs like in the picture above with no metal base just the contact wires. The simply push into the big plastic socket. Tried every flip/flop combination possible, they only go in one way, and of course shoved the originals in and all was well again.. figures, the tach is the only gauge that's a ***** to get at!

I did not get a round to remove the Tach, since I have to remove the steering wheel to get it out. However, I measured the holes on a spare Tach I got. And the holes from the turn signal indicator are smaller. See picture below, the Illumination and High beam indicator are 9.9mm for the BA7s sockets, and the turn signal holes are 9.6mm.

I found out that bulb type is W2x4,6d and they are all over at ebay, however, I have no experience with them, and I don't know if they work with the turning signal.

Here is a picture of the Tach:

Cheers

Aside from me dropping an old bulb into my speedo I am very pleased with these lights. They are hilariously bright compared to the originals. I initially did just the speedo and in daylight in my garage I could easily see the illumination in that gauge whereas with the others you could not tell when the lights were on or off. Good deal.

Ps. The vintage colour is very fitting as well.
