Trailing Arm Bolts - washer required?

Just been torqueing my trailing arm bolts, and was not sure I had assembled them properly. Can anyone advise me whether a washer should be present under the head of the bolt? According to the PET there is only one under the nut, and I can't remember if one was present when I dismantled. I don't have any spare M14 washers lying around. Car is 89 3.2. Obligatory pictures attached! | ||

I know what you mean. It must be an engineering illusion that you would need to spread out the bolt head compression.
