First time engine drop
All in all not too bad. It took me three hours to complete the drop including a couple breaks to check notes and posts by other members here. I used a Craftsman ATV Jack recommended by someone here. It made it virtually trouble free and I felt safe enough to do it solo. It took another three hours today to get it stripped down enough to get the yoke bolted on and hanging on the 1/2 ton Harbor freight stand. The Jack was on sale for $179 and the stand was $59

Does the ATV jack go high enough to insert the yoke in the engine stand or does it require a cherry picker to raise the engine high enough to attach to stand?

The Jack does not go high enough to get the engine to stand height. A cherry picker would be a good way to do it. I lucked out and have a fork lift available.

Fork lift, that is lucky. Yeah that's what I figured, been looking at used ones on craigslist, seems to be a ton of them on there.
