Not sure if they are different but they sure do look the same in pics. And I know I have a 2.7 air box cover on my 3.0 engine and it is the same size so I will assume that they are generally the same. What I will say is that you will most likely benefit from a proper tuned 2.7 CIS system more than you will by slapping on what may be a slightly bigger (if anything) CIS system from a 3.0.
Regards Dave

There was a small change in the big rubber boot found on the top of the engine between the 1974 model and the 1977 model. An extra port or nipple on the back of the 1974.
I would imagine even greater differences between a mid-year and an SC in other areas.

78, 79 and euro cars have larger intake runners. 74-77 and the US 80-83 have the same intake runners.

What specific SC model/year?
Quote:
Gilad, There are three (3) distinct groups of SC CIS components for USA/Canada models. They are the '78-'79, '80, and '81-'83 excluding the Euro or RoW cars. Installing the later SC CIS components in your '76 will not improve or enhance anything except your ego!!!! What are your incentives in attempting to do a mixed matched set-up? While it could be done to assemble such concept, you are simply making the maintenance and troubleshooting more complicated that the standard set-up. Well, the decision is all yours. If you are the type of individual who prefers challenge, pressure, and going against conventional wisdom go ahead and find out yourself. And keep us posted. Tony |

Question is, what year SC is it from? If from an 80 or later, you'll need to add the 02 sensor and ECM or it won't run right.

the only thing you can do is put the throttle body from the SC on the your 2.7. you will have to remove the decel circuit and run without one.
the TB from the SC is much bigger than the 2.7. this will only make a difference at WOT. other than that there is no advantage. in fact, if the SC system you have is a lambda system, yours is more reliable, no electronics. the 78-79 will only help if you have big HP.
